All Grade Defense Rules
**6th grade Defense- All defenses allowed
**5th grade Defense- man to man with switching allowed. Man to man is the only defense we want played during our games.
1. Players are not allowed to just stand in the three second lane on defense unless their offensive assignment is standing there.
2. If an offensive player is standing outside the 3-point line or is opposite ball side, the defensive player may be in the help position. It is important that as the offensive player changes positions, the defensive player must relocate as well. This is where we need our coaches teaching the proper fundamentals of man to man defense. Officials who feel a player is zoning may blow the whistle and warn the team.
4. A man to man full court press can be played the last two minutes of each half. No trapping
press is allowed.
5. After a made shot or dead ball, the defense must sprint back to the 10 second line where they may begin to play defense.
6. Pressing allowed 2nd and 4th quarters.
